Hornbeak to raise funds

The Hornbeak Fire Department First Responders fund raiser, sponsored by Hornbeak Community Club, will be Saturday, beginning with a yard sale and bake sale at 8 a.m. at City Hall. Lunch will be served beginning at 10 and the menu will include a hamburger or hot dog, baked beans, chips, drink and dessert for $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Free blood pressure checks will be offered 10-11:30 a.m. or upon request.
Those with items to donate to the yard sale are asked to bring them to City Hall by Friday. Clothing will not be accepted.
Funds raised will go to provide a new portable suction pump, a state-required item, for the First Responders.
