Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee will partner with child abuse prevention programs and Tennessee first lady Crissy Haslam to launch the Pinwheels for Prevention® public awareness campaign.
Pinwheels for Prevention changes the way people think about prevention and emphasizes community activities and public policies that prioritize the prevention of child abuse and neglect before it can occur.
Pinwheels are a symbol of a happy, carefree childhood and the belief that getting it right for children early on is less costly than trying to fix problems after things have gone wrong.
Mrs. Haslam believes that all children deserve this opportunity, and in honor and recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month and happy, healthy children across the state, she will be planting a Pinwheel Garden at the Tennessee Capitol on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
