A Fulton woman has been charged with theft in connection with an alleged incident at the convenience store where she was employed.
Penny Dalane Papierski, 41, was arrested Friday on a charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500, a Class D felony, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.
Police received a theft complaint Friday from the area manager for Pocket’s Shell Food Mart, who alleged an employee at the Fulton store had been caught stealing on video. The manager told police the employee was cooperating with the investigation and, about 11:30 a.m. Friday, a Fulton police officer responded to the store to conduct a brief interview with the suspect. At that time, Ms. Papierski provided a written statement to both her employer and the officer.
Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell said the reported amount of the ongoing theft was about $5,000.
Ms. Papierski was arrested and transported to the Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center in Hickman. Her bond was set at $2,500 cash. Her first appearance and arraignment were scheduled for today in Fulton County District Court, police reported in the press release.
