Obion Central has a year over South Fulton in terms of boys’ soccer experience.
Obion Central’s T.J. Riddle and Skylar Britt battle for the soccer ball.
It showed on Thursday evening in Troy.
Obion Central routed South Fulton 10-0 in the first-ever varsity boys’ soccer game between the two schools.
In other local soccer action, the Union City Middle School co-ed team blanked Gibson County 10-0.
OC 10, SF 0
Juan Mora paced the Rebels with four goals, while Eric Torres turned in a hat trick (three scores) and Tanner Noles booted two kicks into the net.
Andrew Terrell also had one goal for Obion Central (1-1-1).
OC goalie Samuel Smith shut out the Red Devils (0-3) and made five saves.
The Rebels were ahead 5-0 at intermission.
In other news pertaining to South Fulton soccer. The Messenger was incorrectly informed of the kicker on the school’s first-ever goal.
The young man who booted the goal was Ryan Sowell.
Obion Central goes to Gibson County on Monday. SF hosts McKenzie on Tuesday.

Cesar Landeros and Alexis Vasquez both had hat tricks for the Twisters (2-1).
Additionally, Noel Mejia had two goals, while Davis Odle and Christian Campos each kicked in one score during Union City’s onslaught.
The Golden Tornadoes were ahead 5-0 at halftime.
Back-upå goalie Will Harris stopped both of GC’s shots on goal.
Union City hosts Trenton at home on Tuesday.
