Delta Air Lines says it will cut departures from Memphis by 25 percent, dealing a blow to an airport that has already wondered how long the airline would keep it as a hub.
Delta President Ed Bastian recently told analysts that Memphis will now be more of a “complementary flow” hub to Atlanta. Delta and regional partners currently carry more than 80 percent of Memphis passengers.
When Delta Air Lines Inc. bought Northwest Airlines in 2008, it said it would keep all of Northwest’s hubs.
