For starters, the Martin Middle School soccer team was a “perfect 10” on those two days.
And altogether, that was the number of goals that the MMS soccer team scored during its twin triumphs over Union City and Gibson County.
The Panthers blanked Gibson County 7-0 on Monday and shut out UC 3-0 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Westview boys’ squad wasn’t too shabby on its own with a 5-3 triumph over a much-improved Obion Central team.

Abraham Haddad kicked two goals, while Adam Reinhard had a goal and two assists to lead the Chargers, who led 2-1 at intermission.
Nic Fortner and Ashton Meyer each had one goal for Westview (2-1).
Charger goalie Scout Edwards had five saves.
“Obion Central has showed a lot of improvement for a second-year program,” Westview boys’ coach Dan Scates said. “I was proud of how we attacked in the second half. We were able to pass better and run our offense better, which led to us finishing goals.
“That was the difference in the game.”
MMS 3, UC 0
Barrett Belote, Brandon Stacks and Jordan Hazelwood each booted one goal for the Panthers (5-0) against Union City.
Also of note were Emmett Daniel and Gian Garma, who each dished out one assist.
MMS 7, Gibson Co. 0
Belote had two goals during Martin’s route of the Pioneers.
Also, Daniel, Hazelwood, Brandon Hauhe, Trevor Holcomb and Dominic Fabianich each had one score.
Gibson County did not make a single shot on the Panthers’ goal.
