BUSY QUILTERS — The University of Tennessee Extension Service Mason Hall Family and Community Education Club (FCE) members Nancy Tankersley (from left), Irene Galloway, Frances Allen, Nettie B. Moore, Charlotte Pierce and Martha Halford were recently busy quilting at the Mason Hall Community Center. Joining them was Kylee Marie Griffin, great-granddaughter of Mrs. Allen. FCE members get together and put in many days of quilting. They usually quilt all day long on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mason Hall FCE Club members will quilt a completed top if called upon. However, they do not piece quilts. Area residents who have a quilt top that needs to be quilted should contact Mrs. Allen at 673-4263 for more information. Other Mason Hall FCE Club quilters include Mary Louise Davis, Vernelle Sturdivant and Jeanette Proctor. Mason Hall FCE Club members have been quilting since 1995. Every year members set up their quilting exhibit at Milan Folklore Days and Davy Crockett Days in October and at the Obion County Fair in August. Mason Hall Community Center is always busy with lots of activities, one of which will be Mason Hall’s Homecoming July 2 at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited.
