Local farmer donates to Relay for Life | Charlie and Judy Culver

GENEROUS HEARTS – Dresden farmers Charlie and Judy Culver offer a donation of $2,500 to Weakley Southwest’s Relay for Life fundraiser after Judy’s name was drawn from a hat by the Monsanto corporation recently as a part of the company’s Funds America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM program. The Culvers are cancer survivors and the couple said the cause was near and dear to their hearts. Offering and accepting the donation on Friday were (from left) Charlie Culver, Weakley Southwest Event Chair Jeff Rial, Monsanto sales rep Ty Parker, Weakley Southwest Relay coordinator Margie Staley, American Cancer Society rep David Lane, Judy Culver and granddaughter Julie Johnson. Charlie said his family has used Monsanto for its seed supplies since the 1960s. The Culvers are row-crop farmers outside of Dresden.
