|It’s that time of year again. |
The eighth annual St. Jude Baseball Classic is set to begin Wednesday afternoon and end Saturday at Union City’s Graham Park.
Play is set to begin on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 with Lone Oak against McKenzie on the turf of L.H. Ladd Field at Elam Stadium and Huntingdon against Dresden within the confines of Thompson Field.
At 6:30 on Wednesday, LO is to battle Greenfield at Elam Stadium, while Huntingdon plays UC inside Thompson Field.
On Thursday, Westview battles McKenzie at 4:30 in a game at Elam Stadium. UC and Dresden play at 5:30 at Thompson Field.
Thursday’s nightcap has Westview against Greenfield at Elam Stadium at 6:30.
On Friday, Elam Stadium is the facility for H’don vs. Russellville (2), Union City vs. Russellville (4:30) and Lone Oak vs. Westview (6).
McKenzie plays Green-field at 5 Friday.
The final pool play contest has Dresden against Russellville Saturday morning at 10 (Elam Stadium).
After that, teams from each pool meet in the medal round.
Greenfield, Lone Oak, McKenzie and Westview comprise Pool A, while Union City, Dresden, Huntingdon and Russellville make up Pool B.
The fourth place game is set for 12:30 at Thompson Field, while the second place contest is at the same time at Elam Stadium.
Third place will be decided at 2:30 within Thompson Field’s confines. The title game takes place at the same hour at Elam Stadium.
