The Hunt Family will perform on April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center.
The Hunt Family is an award-winning family of Irish step dancers, champion fiddlers and talented singers. Sandy and Clint Hunt are the parents of seven children, ranging in age from 12 to 20, all of whose names start with J: Jessi, Jenni, Josh, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin and J.J.
The family’s dynamic show incorporates a wide variety of musical genres, ranging from traditional Irish and Celtic tunes to bluegrass country, inspirational and popular songs, as well as a diverse repertoire of original compositions.
The children are home-schooled and were taught violin by their mother. They learned guitar from their father and also play percussion, drums, keyboards, bass and mandolin.
The Hunts have completed three tours of the U.S., performed for Queen Elizabeth during her last visit to America and graced the stages of many festivals and performing arts venues to rave reviews. They’ve recorded five CDs and a DVD, and they’ve published two instructional books on violin.
Tickets for the Hunt Family are $25 and $30 and now on sale at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Box Office by calling (731) 425-8587.
