Vehicle parts stolen

Union City police are investigating two separate thefts of vehicles parts reported Thursday.
Jason Johnson of 607 South Second St. told police a 350 turbo transmission was stolen from his yard sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Johnson told police the transmission was pushed under the rear of a vehicle but was not attached. It is valued at $750.
In a separate incident, Wendall Woods of 2680 Flippen Lane, Union City, told police someone stole a battery from a truck while it was parked on the Dollar Tree parking lot at 1401 West Reelfoot Ave.
According to a Union City Police Department report, Woods told police he drives a blue Chevrolet truck that belongs to his girlfriend. He said he parked the vehicle on the parking lot at 6 p.m. Monday, indicating he leaves it there when he drives a semi truck. He said sometime between Monday and Thursday, someone slid out the back glass, popped the hood of the truck and stole the Everstart battery.
