Earl Allen

Earl Allen, 83, of Dresden, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Murray Calloway County Hospital, Murray, Ky.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden with Bro. Gary Reagan officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, Dresden.

Gene Perkins, Donald Perkins, Ronald Perkins, Gerald Taylor, Ricky Young and Dickie Young served as pallbearers.

Allen was born Sept. 8, 1927 in Weakley County, son of the late William H. and Edith Irene Norwood Allen. He was a factory worker and mechanic for Dico and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Relma Mansfield Allen of Dresden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Russell Hencinski of Oak Park, Ill. and Cheryl and Marc Hotovec of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Karas.

Rich L. Olinger

Rich L. Olinger, 65, of Elkhart, Ind., formerly of Palmersville, died Friday, March 11, 2011 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 19 at the Cedar Road Missionary Church in Osceola with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Olinger was born March 3, 1946 in Mishawaka, Ind., son of the late Homer and Susie Kimes Olinger. He was a 1964 graduate of Penn High School and attended Bethel College. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served one year in Vietnam. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company where he was a member of the UAW for 32 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church in Como.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Herron Olinger of Elkhart; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mel and Ellie Olinger of Elkhart, Jerry and Sandy Olinger of Palmersville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bernie Payne of Elkhart, Mae and Chuck Olinger of Mishawak, Ind.; five children, Daniel and Brenda Olinger of Tecumseh, Mich., Dana and John Williams of Lawrenceville, Ga., Eric Olinger and Marc Olinger, both of Houston; two stepchildren, Chuck Sowders Jr. and Stacy and Trent Smith, all of Granger, Ind.; four grandchildren, Jacob Olinger, Sierra Williams, Nikko Williams and Zayen Olinger; and three step grandchildren, Maddie Smith, Casey Smith and Conner Sowders.

Donna Kay Grubb Spencer

Mrs. Donna Kay Grubb Spencer, 62, of Martin, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at her residence.

Memorial service and celebration of life was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sky McCracken officiating. Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Martin with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Spencer was born April 3, 1948 in Martin, daughter of the late J. C. and Betty Jean Reams Grubb. She was a graduate of Dresden High School and formerly worked at City Drug Store, Dresden.

Survivors include one son, Jonathan Spencer of Mansfield, Texas; and one sister, Jane Bragg of Martin.
