The Delphian Review Club met recently in the parlor of First United Methodist Church in Union City with Mrs. Bill Burnett, president, presiding.
Mrs. B.J. Cranford gave the thought for the day: “Welcoming spring.”
Mrs. R.E. Clendenin Jr. called the roll and read the minutes of the previous meeting.
Following a brief business session, Mrs. Burnett gave an informational program of the origination and celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in America. She noted the first parade was held in New York City on March 17, 1762, by Irish soldiers serving in the English military. Today, nearly 3 million people line the 1.5 mile parade route to watch the five-hour procession.
Mrs. Jim Rippy, hostess, served a chocolate mint dessert and coffee to those present.
The club will meet next on April 8 in the home of Mrs. Bill Townes.
