Prayer for our community and the Goodyear family

The Messenger, March 17, 2011
O Sovereign Lord, You  said, “If My people who are called by My name, (that’s us the community of faith, the religious crowd) would humble themselves, seek my face and pray and turn from their wicked ways, (that’s us the community of faith, the religious crowd) then I (You, O Lord) will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”
So in obedience to Your Word, O Sovereign Lord, I humble myself before you and call on you to intervene on behalf of our community. Forgive me for my sin and failures as I turn to You, O God.
O Sovereign Lord, while we know that the industry of man is not our source, but You are, we call on You, O God, in the following ways:
• O Lord, as You know, the closure of Goodyear would have a negative impact on our community and affect many, many people in this region in the short term.
• And, Sovereign Lord, the people of this area are not looking for a hand out, they just simply want to have a good job to work at to provide for their families.
• O Lord, I know that the decision makers of Goodyear have a free will to do as they choose, but I call upon You, Sovereign Lord, and ask that You would move upon the hearts of those decision makers at the executive level of Goodyear, to take a second look at the Union City plant. O Lord, that they would see the dedication of the workforce in this area, that they would see the productivity of the laborers in this region, that they would see the potential here.
• O Sovereign Lord, move upon those officials to halt the movement of equipment from this local plant and when the decision makers are conducting their strategic planning, stir their hearts in such a way that they would reverse their decision to close or move this plant.
O Sovereign LORD, I acknowledge that you are our source, and come what may, if men refuse to listen, You will still be God and we will be OK because our trust is in You.
O Lord, hear your servant, and may this prayer be answered with all praise, honor and glory be unto You I ask and petition You, O God. In the name of my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ!
