Miss Burdette to wed Walter Hunt on May 7

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Heather Nicole Burdette of Martin and Walter Escue Hunt of Ripley are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Joel and Gail Easley Burdette of Martin. She is the granddaughter of George R. Easley Sr. of Union City, the late Betty Rives Easley, the late Floyd and Audrey Smith Burdette, Frances Osborne Rhodes of Corinth, Miss., and the late James Rhodes.
She plans to graduate in April from Baptist College of Health Science in Memphis with a bachelor of health science degree with a focus in diagnostic medical sonography. She is a member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and Allied Health Student Association, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and was on the Dean’s List. She plans to practice ultrasound in the Knoxville area.
The groom-elect is the son of Dr. Joe W. and Cynthia Escue Hunt of Ripley. He is the grandson of Etta Sappington Hunt of Alamo, the late Dr. Joe H. Hunt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Silas J. Escue.
He is a 2010 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is a graduate assistant and is pursuing a master of science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
The couple will wed at 2 p.m. May 7 at First United Methodist Church in Union City. Music will begin at 1:30.
A reception will be held at 3 p.m. in the community room of First State Bank in Martin.
All friends and family members are invited to attend. Only out-of-town invitations will be sent.
