Students in sixth through 12th grades who are interested in learning more about wildlife and who like the outdoors are encouraged to attend OWLS (Outdoor Wildlife Leadership and Service) Conference.
The event takes place at Chickasaw State Park May 31-June 3.
The cost to attend is $150 and includes lodging, meals and workshop materials.
Topics to be learned at OWLS Conference include:
• Wildlife and forestry judging
• Archery
• Outdoor cookery
• Four-wheeler safety
• Swimming and fishing
OWLS Conference is open to all youth currently in grades 6-12. Due to space restrictions, registration is very limited. Participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
For more information, contact University of Tennessee Extension agent Una Baker Johnson at 885-3742. Applications and fees are due April 1. Checks may be made payable to University of Tennessee and sent to the UT Extension Service at 302 South Third St., Union City.
