Larry Hood, 65, of South Fulton died March 13, 2011, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with Dr. Jack Acree officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 this evening and on Wednesday until the å hour.
He was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Fulton, son of the late James L. “Roy” and Ruth (Wilson) Hood. A member of Fulton First Baptist Church, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and ååhad been a social worker for the Veteran’s Administration in Nashville for 15 years. He earned a master’s degree in social work from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and had lived in this area most of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Hood of Fulton and John Waylon Hood of Mayfield, Ky.; his daughter, Dee Ann Burklow of Paducah, Ky.; three grandchildren, Michael Burklow, Christina Burklow and Austin Burklow, all of Paducah; and three sisters, Shirley Hood Mann of South Fulton, Carolyn Clay of Birmingham, Ala., and Patricia Bowden of Louisville, Ky.
