4-H WORKSHOP — Each month the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H Program team up and provide craft workshops for children grades K-6. These workshops provide students with vital life skills such as independence, good self-esteem and the ability to think creatively. The February workshop celebrated winter. Youth designed fun toboggans and gloves with felt shapes cut using the library’s Ellison Die Cuts, located in the Teacher Resource Center. They are free for use by the public. 4-H volunteers assisting during the workshop included 4-H All Star Logan Stephens and Honor Club member Samantha Davis. The next workshop will be held on Wednesday and will celebrate spring. Pre-registration is required and anyone interested may do so by contacting children’s librarian Jenny Virgin at 885-7000. Among those participating were (seated, from left) Anthony Brewer, Thorpe Mitchell, (standing) Madeline Underwood, Gracyn Callicott, Miss Davis, Olivia Roby, Madelyn Hogan, Emmalee Foster, Stephens, Ella Virgin and Abigail Brewer.
