PARIS  (AP) — A therapeutic riding facility in Henry County has received $2,500 as part of a program administered by the Monsanto Fund.
The Hoof Beats of Hope site in Puryear offers horseback rides to children and adults with special needs.
The recipient was picked by farmer Brenda Parker of Paris who participated in the Monsanto’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities program.
According to The Paris Post-Intelligencer, the program awards $2,500 grants to the winning farmer’s favorite non-profit organization.
The company plans to award $3 million in donations across 1,200 counties in 38 states.
A Hoof Beats representative said the money probably would be used to buy hay.
Monsanto sells seeds and farm protection chemicals.
