A meeting for parents with concerns about the future for their children is planned for March 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the courtroom of the Union City Municipal Building. The Obion County Ministerial Fellowship is sponsoring the event in hopes of assisting families.
Organizers say the effort has grown out of the knowledge that many children, especially those from single-parent families, are unprepared to enter preschool because of the lack of discipline they receive in their homes and the lack of knowledge considered basic for children entering pre-school programs. Members of the fellowship say they stand ready to assist families by teaching proper parenting skills and stressing the fact that parents are a child’s first teacher, mentor, role model and disciplinarian.
All parents who are interested are invited to attend.
