on Lenten season

Faith Lutheran Church in Union City will have services during the Lenten Season on Wednesday nights beginning with Ash Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. The theme of the Lenten services is “iracles of the Passion.” A short meal will be served prior to each service starting at 6 .m. 

The church is located at 2012 East Reelfoot Ave., across from the Coca Cola Bottling plant in Union City.

A warm welcome is extended to everyone to attend.

 

Ides of March

Hamfest set

The Ides of March Hamfest will be held from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at Union City National Guard Armory, 2017 East Reelfoot Ave. sponsored by the Reelfoot Amateur Radio Club.

Amateur radio forums amateur radio license testing. QSL card checking, vendor tables for professional suppliers and hams, good food, good fellowship, interaction with ARRL representatives—all of these are offered as a part of the Hamfest. 5K race for RFL

BancorpSouth to sponsor 5K race to benefit Weakley County East Relay for Life March 19, registration begins at 8 a.m. with the race to begin at 9 a.m. Pre-registration with $15 entry fee until March 10, $18 entry fee March 11 until race day. Spay Day is being set for March 20. Cost is $40 Spay/ $35 Neuter for cats and $60 spay/ $50 Neuter. There will be an additional $25 fee for dogs over 50 lbs.

UT Martin Spring 

Preview Day 

The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Admissions will host Spring Preview Day, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, March 26, in Boling University Center. 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. Welcoming remarks and an information session will follow at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., an academic fair will be hosted. The campus tour, including housing and the Student Recreation Center, will begin at 11:30 a.m.
