An all-call to parents in Weakley County whose children will be five years old by Sept. 30 of this year has been issued in a request to pre-register their children for kindergarten.
Pre registration is planned for Dresden Elementary School, Martin Primary School, Gleason Elementary School and Greenfield Elementary from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. this Thursday.
Sharon School’s pre registration is planned for 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Items needed for pre registration include the following:
• Green Card – This is the health/shot record from the child’s doctor or health department;
• Certified Birth Certificate – This item must come from the state where the child is born and contain the state seal and the child’s birth number on it.
• Social Security Number – A copy of the card will be made and the number will be used for identification purposes from grades K-12.
• Proof of Residency – Utility bills are suggested for this proof. A driver’s license or voter’s registration card will not be accepted for proof.
Copies of this information will be made during pre registration and filed in the child’s permanent records.
Be expected to list a name and phone number of someone to call in case of emergency other than yourself or your spouse.
Plans will also be made to set up a Brigance Screening Assessment for the child after pre registration.
Parents who cannot attend the pre registration of kindergarten are asked to call the school to be placed on the roster for the upcoming school year and register your child in August.
