Fourth grade 4-H public speaking winners announced

FOURTH GRADE 4-H PUBLIC SPEAKING WINNERS – Forty-five fourth and fifth graders gathered to compete in the county 4-H Public Speaking contest that was held on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the Dresden Middle School. Each of these students was chosen to compete after being selected as a winner of their classroom 4-H speech contest. In the fourth grade, Taylor Reynolds of Dresden was named the overall winner with her speech on sign language. Three finalists were also chosen to compete in the final round with Reynolds. Those students were Nate Montgomery of Dresden, Joshua Floyd of Martin and Mabry Lewellen of Dresden. Those students receiving blue ribbons in the fourth grade division included Rachel Powers, Lakin Overton, Kaitlyn Gallimore, Emma Taylor, Laral Winn, Libby Arnold, Bria Butts, Julianna Moore, Joseph Pelren, Kennedy Reese and Sophia Box. Students receiving red awards in the fourth grade included Armenda Stringer, Maggie Fowler, Hanna Grace Garner, Sylvia Longacre, Jacob Romans, Abdulla Obadat, Ally Brown, Collin Williams, Malik Pogue and Tyler Dicicco.
