FIFTH GRADE 4-H PUBLIC SPEAKING WINNERS – In the fifth grade division the overall winner was Sarah McDonald of McKenzie. McDonald chose Mother Teresa as her topic for her speech. Finalists in the fifth grade contest included Seth Bowers of Gleason, Christene Spencer of Martin and Reid Chandler of Martin. Fifth grade students receiving blue awards were Alexis Campbell, Anna Dale Wright, Lily Little, Makayla Little, Hayley Shumake, Rachel Forrester, Cade Rogers and Shelley Rowlett. Red ribbon winners in the fifth grade division were Ginger Blair, Brock Forrester, Josh Williams, Abigail Arnold, Matti Sellers, Claire Capps, Stephen Nanney and Alexis Shanklin. Each year over 600 students in Weakley County participate in 4-H Public Speaking Contests during in-school club meetings.
