Shots fired in UC

Joey Taylor Morris, 39, of Union City has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment after a report of gunshots Friday.
Union City police received a call about 11:30 p.m. that shots had been fired at 316 South Sixth St. A suspect matching the description of the alleged shooter was observed in the 300 block of South Fifth Street near West Church Street.
When officers stopped Morris, who lives at 316 South Sixth St., he was found to have a loaded .22 caliber revolver handgun in his pocket, according to a police report.
While clearing the weapon, an officer found one round had been discharged. Morris told police he fired once while in his backyard.
