Pageants set in Gleason, Jackson

The seventh annual Miss West Tennessee Woodman of the World Springtime Pageant will be held March 26 in the former Gleason School gymnasium.
This is a qualifying event for the Strawberry Festival pageant and the proceeds are used to help fund scholarships for eligible seniors at the Gleason and Dresden high schools.
It is sponsored by Lodge 1149 of Woodmen of the World.
The entry fee is $20 and admission is $3 at the door for everyone school-age and older.
Concessions will be available.
The pageant begins at 3 p.m., with age categories as follows: boys and girls younger than 1 year old, 3 p.m.; boys and girls age 1, 3:30; boys and girls age 2, 4 p.m.; boys and girls, age 3, 4:30; boys and girls ages 4-5, 5; girls ages 6-7, 5:45; girls ages 8-9, 6:30; girls ages 10-12, 7:15; girls ages 13-15, 8; and girls ages 16-21, 8:45.
Registration begins 45 minutes prior to each age category.

The 2011 Crowns for a Cure Pageant benefiting Relay for Life will be held March 26 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1848 on North Highland Drive, next to Highland Green Golf Course, in Jackson.
Categories include beauty, Flair for Fashion, Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Smile and Prettiest Hair. The beauty only category is $20, while the special categories are $5 each. To enter all categories, the fee is $35.
Registration will be at the door 30 minutes prior to each age category, which includes noon for babies in arms, 12:30 p.m. for walking to age 23 months, 1 for ages 2-3, 1:30 for ages 4-5, 2 for ages 6-7, 2:45 for ages 8-9, 3:15 for ages 10-12, 3:45 for ages 13-15 and 4:15 for ages 16-21.
Pageant wear or Sunday dress will be permissible.
Door admission is $5 each, with one parent admitted free per contestant.
