REPRESENTING GREENFIELD ACADEMICS – Members of the Greenfield Juior Beta Club recently attended the state convention in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. Abby Huffstetler attended the convention as the current State Beta Secretery and Morgan Simmons was elected Tennessee State Junior Beta President. The Tower of Power earned a second-place trophy and included Scott Stout, Alle Dees, Brittany Peoples, Breanna Taylor and Will Northcutt.  Ashley Mitchell performed a vocal number and was named among the top eight finalists in the special talent competition. Greenfield Junior Betas plan to attend the national convention which will be held June 17-20 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. 

The Greenfield Junior Beta Club attended the Tennessee State Beta Convention held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. 

About 40 Greenfield Junior Betas joined approximately 5,700 Junior Betas from across the state at the convention.

Abby Huffstetler, daughter of Randy and Sherri Huffstetler, attended the convention as the current Tennessee State Beta Secretary. 

Her duties included presenting a keynote address to the convention and presiding at the Third General Session.

Greenfield Betas participated in numerous competitions as well as attending the Convention sessions. They brought home a 1st place trophy in the Songfest Competition and also received a 1st place trophy for their scrapbook. 

The Tower of Power team earned a 2nd place trophy in their competition by constructing a tower made of straws and masking tape. Team members included Scott Stout, Alle Dees, Brittany Peoples, Brenna Taylor, and Will Northcutt. Ashley Mitchell, who performed a vocal number, was among the top 8 finalists in the Special Talent Competition.

Morgan Simmons, daughter of Kelly Simmons and Marla Simmons, was elected Tennessee State Junior Beta President. She will compete at the National Convention this summer and will preside at the State Convention in November 2011.

Greenfield Junior Betas are making plans to attend the National Convention June 17-20, 2011, to be held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
