Juvenile petitions were issued to charge three teenagers with robbery following an alleged incident Wednesday night in the South Miles Avenue area of Union City.
Police responded just after 9 p.m. to the area of the Save-A-Lot store on Nailling Drive near Miles Avenue, where 911 dispatch advised someone had been robbed and the offenders were running behind the store.
According to a Union City Police Department report, as an officer turned onto Nash Street, he saw three people running toward the ditch behind the store. Police stopped the three subjects and, after speaking with the victim, learned the three — all juveniles — had allegedly taken part in the robbery.
Police reported that the victim, Calvin Martin, 38, of Kenton, sustained minor injury in the incident. The juvenile petitions indicated he was robbed in the 200 block of South Miles Avenue “by means of physical violence” and his cell phone taken.
The three boys — two 15-year-olds and one 16-year-old, all from Union City — were taken to the police station, where juvenile petitions were issued and they were released to their parents.
