Library events set | Obion County Public Library

EVENTS PLANNED — The Obion County Public Library has several events planned from March through July. A Library Fun Day is set for March 11, while movie nights are set for May 7 and July 22. Teen Open Mic Night will be held May 10, June 14 and July 12 at 6 each night. Video Game Days will be held for 9-12 year olds April 2 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., while 6-8 year olds will be able to enjoy video games from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 16. The cost for each of the game days is $3 and includes pizza and a drink. The library’s popular summer reading program will be held June 6-July 18. Children ages 9-12 will be also able to enjoy a Library Lock-In July 22 following the movie. The lock-in is limited to 30 children and costs $8. Those who enjoyed a recent Library Lock-In were (front, from left) Grace Kennedy, Lexie Lunsford, Macy Thompson, (middle) Elizabeth Calfee, Emma Blanton, Daisye Graham, (back) Cassie Fleenor, children’s coordinator Jenny Virgin, Sarah Schlager, Anna Oliver, Rayanna Fleenor, Alivia Morris and Caroline Conley. The night was filled with scavenger hunts, dancing, Wii games, facials and movies. Pizza was enjoyed by all 30 children. The event was a huge success with the help of the library’s Teen Advisory Group volunteers and drink and snack donations given by Coca-Cola, a spokesman said. For more information about any of the events, call the library at 885-7000 or visit www.oclibrary.org.
