Relay For Life
Please don’t forget that Weakley West (Martin & Sharon) Relay For Life is having a great fundraiser selling personalized totes for only $20 each. Miss Mardi Gras Pageant is being sponsored by Milan Band Parents Assoc. on March 5 at the Milan High School Band Room.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. The pageant begins with 0-12 months at 5 p.m. The pageant is open to girls from 0-21 years.

The Martin Area Ministerial Alliance will hold their monthly breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at Greenbrier Meadows Assisted Living, 436 Hannings Lane. All ministers in the Martin Area are welcome and invited to attend. For more information, contact John Whittaker, 587-9555.
Dresden First United Methodist Church will be hosting a special service to observe the beginning of Lent at 7 p.m. on Wednesday March 9. Lent is the season leading up to Easter when we pause to reflect on who we are and who God is through reflection, repentance, prayer and self-denial. By understanding Jesus’ journey into the wilderness we can most fully appreciate the true meaning Easter and the resurrection. Pastor Mark Earheart and the entire church family invite everyone regardless of religious preference to join us for this worship service to acknowledge our humanity and God’s grace. Miss UTM Rodeo
Tennessee National Guard and The University of Tennessee at Martin Rodeo Booster Club will sponsor the Miss UTM Rodeo Pageant Saturday, March 12, at UTM Student Life Center on the corner of University and Moody. The pageant is open to all girls, ages 0-20. Contestants will be judged in formal/evening gown only. Doors open at 1 p.m. with pageants as follows: 0-12 months at 2 p.m., 1-3 years at 2:20 p.m., 4-6 years at 2:40 p.m., 7-9 years at 3 p.m., 10-12 years at 3:20 p.m., 13-15 years at 3:40 p.m. and 16-20 years at 4 p.m..
Registration is at the door, $25 for beauty only with side categories available for additional cost. Winner of the 16-20 division required to participate in UTM Rodeo Week activities and is eligible to compete in Territorial Queens Review/Strawberry Festival. Spring Heifer and
bull sale set
The University of Tennessee Plateau AgResearch and Education Center will hold its annual spring heifer and bull sale on Friday, March 25, starting at 10 a.m. CDT.
The sale will feature high-quality registered open Angus, Gelbvieh, and Balancer heifers as well as registered Angus bulls. All sale animals will come from the existing UT herd. Minimum bids per head will be required. Registration documentation and performance data are available for review. A list of the cattle to be sold is available online at http//plateau.tennessee.edu.
