The Covered Bridge Music Fest and Bean Cook-off is planned for May 7, with “pickin’” beginning at 2 p.m. at the Trimble gazebo.
Organizers are looking for amateur musicians, singers, dancers and comic performers who can take part in a family-type entertainment venue. All instruments are welcome, with country, contemporary Christian, gospel and easy listening music preferred.
Bean cookers who can set up and prepare their family secret recipes for beans are also sought. Organizers will provide the beans and cookers are asked to bring their own seasoning and cookers to prepare the recipes on the street. Judging will take place and then the community will be invited to enjoy the beans, beginning at 5 p.m.
