The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Tennessee Economic Development Council recently held their annual Legislative reception at the downtown Sheraton across from the State Capitol.
State representatives, senators and commissioners were hosted by local chambers of commerce and economic development councils from across the state.
The reception allowed legislators to visit and hear the concerns of officials from city and county chambers of commerce.
Most Tennessee chambers of commerce were represented at the annual event.
State Rep. Bill Sanderson, who represents Obion, Lake and Dyer counties, visited with local chamber officials Lindsay Frilling and Robbie Green.
Mrs. Frilling and Mrs. Green had the opportunity to see Speaker Beth Harwell and other state leaders during the event.
With a tight state budget, most local chambers of commerce are looking for innovative ways to secure state support for upcoming projects.
Sanderson is a strong supporter of economic development and is committed to seeing the completion of the Cates Landing Port and I-69.
He will be meeting with state Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Bill Hagerty to discuss the Goodyear status and ongoing area projects.
