Louise B. Coates, 95, of South Fulton died 12:40 a.m. Feb. 24, 2011, at her home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with Eddie Cassetty and Ricky Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services Saturday.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38248-0142.
She was born Dec. 17, 1915, in the Jordan (Ky.) community, daughter of the late William Wesley and Mary Cordelia (Younger) Burcham. She was the widow of Thomas Griffin Coates, who died July 28, 1996, and was a homemaker who had also been employed at the former Fulton Hospital. She was a member of Parkway Church of Christ in Fulton.
Survivors include her son, Robert Jerry Coates of Frederick, Md.; three daughters, Glenda J. McAlister of Fulton, Sandra K. Deming of McKenzie and Carol S. Fulcher of South Fulton; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Juanita Roark of Selmer.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lennie Burcham, W.D. Burcham and Ardell Burcham; and five sisters, Mary Byrd, Mildred Dunn, Dorothy Burcham, Helen Strauss and Lois Potter.
