At birthday/anniversary recognition time on Sunday, we sang happy anniversary to Phillip and Christine Upchurch. He told us they have been married for 61 years.
Danny Dawson and family were away on a trip so Robert Summers filled in for him as Sunday school director. He also made our morning announcements.
Darrell Mealer blessed us by singing an inspiring medley of songs for our special music. Bro. Tony Michael, our pastor, used I Chronicles 4:9-10 for his morning sermon text. He told us we are to trust God for our provisions, share our blessings and seek God’s protection.
At altar prayer time, we touched two crocheted shawls while we praying for the people they will be given. They were Ethan, grandson of Stanley and Janet Tims, and for Joyce Yancy.
At 2 p.m., seven people met back at the church to go visiting. All three groups reported having a very good time visiting. If you know someone who would appreciate a visit, please call and give their names to Robert Summers at 648-5030.
Sunday night, one of Bro. Tony’s friends, Lanny Albernathy and his wife, visited in our service. We truly enjoyed hearing him sing “The Lamb Be Praised.”
The evening sermon text was Psalms 105:1-15. We were told that God is not done yet, he still has some exciting things in store for us.
A new class called Faith, Fitness, and Friends, will begin March 2nd at 6 p.m. and be held at our parsonage. Anyone interested in good nutritional health and increasing your faith, are encouraged to attend.
We have a new childrens choir that will be practicing every second and fourth Wednesdays at 7 p.m. All children are invited to join this group.
Gary and Debbie Casey would like to invite everyone to their son, Glen’s 30th birthday celebration on Sunday Feb. 27th beginning with cake at 2 p.m. and followed by a singing at Jolley Springs.
There will be a fundraising chili or soup supper, a silent auction and bingo at the Como Fire Dept building for the Ore Springs/Como Volunteer Fire Dept at 5:30 p.m. with bingo at 7 p.m. this Saturday. Baked goods and many other things will be in the silent auction.
Three of Buddy and Doris Ellis’ sons will have surgery this week. They are Greg, Dale and Mike Ellis.
Gerald Moon has been in the Jackson-Madison General County Hospital because of a head injury caused by a fall on Friday afternoon. He may come home on Monday.
Everyone is invited to attend a baby shower for Misty and Jamie Thompson at Jolley Springs on March 6th. They plan on naming their baby boy, Owen Parker.
