Completed arrangements are being announced for Janie Tilghman, 72, of Kenton. She died at her home at 5:15 a.m. Feb. 24, 2011.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Leitherland Funeral Home in Kenton, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow there in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
She was born Sept. 12, 1938, daughter of the late Hermon and Mittie Mae (Sullivan) Ragsdale. She married Pete “P.T.” Tilghman July 2, 1977. He survives. She was a beautician and a member of Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy.
Survivors also include her daughter, Teresa Barron of Union City; two stepsons, Todd Tilghman of Sidonia community and Skip Tilghman of Union City; her brother, E.C. Ragsdale of Union City; her sister, Margie Chessor of Union City; her granddaughter, Heather Barron of Union City; two grandsons, Aaron Miller and Kyle Miller, both of Atlanta; two step-grandsons, Kip Tilghman and Wes Tilghman, both of Union City; and her great-grandson, Aidan Pruitt of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Miller.
