Completed arrangements are being announced for Elizabeth “Liz” (Valentine) Jobe, 88, of Fulton, who died 11:53 p.m. Feb. 21, 2011, at Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Water Valley (Ky.) Cemetery, with Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday.
The family requests that memorials be made to Fulton Public Library, 312 Main St., Fulton, KY 42041.
She was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Fulton, daughter of the late Shelley Norman and Florence (Wilson) Valentine. She was the widow of Milford Jobe and was the owner and operator of the former Joy Lynn Florist in Fulton. She was a member of South Fulton Baptist Church and had played piano there for many years. She also played for the Lions Club Minstrels and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She had lived in this area all her life.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tommy Lynn; and her grandson, Bill Lynn, all of Macon, Ga.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Valentine and Bill Valentine; and three sisters, Thelma Roberts, Alma Beadles and Margaret Bard Norman.
