What a beautiful week with sunny skies and warmer weather. At Van Ayer Healthcare & Rehab you will also find a warm and cheerful atmosphere. We had a great week filled with fun activities and socials. A Valentine’s Day Social was held in our dining room for all residents, their families, and staff. The party room was decorated with lovely Valentine hearts and balloons. Larry Morgan performed karaoke at this event and the residents had a blast! Thank you Larry for joining us!
The residents also enjoyed cupcakes and punch. Our Valentine King and Queen and Prince and Princess were also announced at the social. This year’s Valentine King is Dwayne Gaskins. Our Queen is Larue Dunn. Our Prince is Thomas Parker. And our Princess is Mary Helen King. The gentlemen received chocolate candy and the ladies received beautiful roses. Our Queen was also crowned with a beautiful, sparkling tiara. A wonderful time was had by all!
Many other activities were also held this week including BINGO and Country Store. The residents got to enjoy popcorn in the Lobby which has become pretty popular at our facility. A Manicure and Spa Day was also held during this week.
And on Friday, the residents enjoyed a Wine & Cheese Social. New Home Baptist Church, Fred House’s Friends Group and Greenfield Methodist Church also came to our facility for church services with worship and song. Thank you for coming! A few activities that will be conducted next week include BINGO, All About the States, and Funny Money Auction. Next week we will also have a big Birthday Party Bash for all residents that have a Birthday in February to celebrate their special day.
We would also like to announce our February Employee of the Month. This award goes to Debbie Rust. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant and works on our first shift team. She is an exceptional staff member. Debbie is a reliable and compassionate worker. We are proud to have her as a part of our team at Van Ayer. Congratulations Debbie!
