Clarendon Chapter elects new officers

The Clarendon Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century, met Feb. 8, at Through the Grapevine Restaurant in Murfreesboro. President Blanche Pearson, called the meeting to order at 10 a.m.
Patriotic exercises were led in unison.
Recording Secretary, Teresa Deathridge presented the minutes. They were approved.
Treasure, Carolyn Christian Martin, gave the financial statement.
Marjorie Hernandez introduced Norma Yarbrough who presented a program on “Volunteer opportunities with the Red Cross”.
The membership voted to invite Sandra Curtis to join the group.
The National Defense report was given by Hernandez. Martin read the flag fact.
Lynda Logan, chapter registrar, reported the approval of papers for Karen Bryan and also the approval of two supplemental applications.
Officers for 2011-2013 were elected. President-Blanche Pearson; First Vice President-Mary Ann Karnes; Second Vice President-Teresa Deathridge; Chaplain-Eleana McCoy; Treasurer-Fay Henson; Registrar-Lynda Logan; Historian-Aline Roberts; Librarian-Marjorie Hernandez.
Delegates elected to National Conference were Aline Roberts and Janie York; alternates were Marie Eubanks and Marjorie Hernanday.
Chaplain, Doris Mason, conducted a memorial service honoring Charlene Johnson and Katherine (Kitty) Parker.
Chaplain Mason gave the blessing and the meeting was adjourned.
