Miss Thompson to wed Mancell in March

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Meredith Leigh Thompson of Union City and John Mancell of Troy are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Buddy and Tena Thompson of Union City. She is the granddaughter of Bobby and Peggy James and Wesley and Joyce Thompson, all of Union City.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2009, she earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
She is a third-grade teacher at Lara Kendall Elementary in Ridgely.
The groom-elect is the son of Jim and Lilo Mancell of Paris. He is the grandson of Karl and Ursula Reidl of Pirmasens, Germany, and the late Bernice and Lorraine Mancell of Dyersburg.
He graduated from UT Martin in 2004, where he earned a bachelor of science in biology. In 2008, he graduated from the University of Tennessee Pharmacy School in Memphis.
He is employed at Walmart pharmacy in Union City.
The couple will wed in a private ceremony March 18 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
