Gloria Ruth (Brockett) Hilton, 81, of Union City, formerly of Carbondale, Ill., died Feb. 18, 2011, at the Obion County Nursing Home.
Graveside services were 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Ararat Cemetery near Troy, with the Revs. Eddie Mallonee and Jerry Leggett officiating. Her grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church building fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
She was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Obion County, daughter of the late Sam and Minnie (Remley) Brockett. She was married to William Glen Allen, who died July 20, 1950. She then married Monroe Floyd, who died in July 1975.
She was a retired employee of the former Gurien Manufacturing Co. in Clinton, Ky., where she worked for 20 years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Brian Bellemy of Carbondale; her son, Steve Allen of Union City; two sisters, Laura Hawks of Union City and Gerri Zimmerman of Fountain, Fla.; her brother, Buck Brockett of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Diane Ulen and Steve Allen Jr., both of Union City, and Charles Bellemy of Carbondale; and two great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Ulen and Reese Ulen, both of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Sam Brockett Jr., Gerald Brockett, Frank Brockett and L.C. Brockett.
