JACKSON (AP) — Lambuth University will get a hearing Monday to appeal a denial of its accreditation status with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Last December, SACS informed Lambuth officials that it would deny reaffirmation of the school’s accreditation. SACS said the university needed improvements in the areas of institutional effectiveness, financial resources, qualifications of administrative and academic officers, financial stability and control of finances.
Lambuth President Bill Seymour said if the school loses its SACS accreditation, it will impact the school’s ability to meet federal requirement for aid programs.
He told The Jackson Sun results should be available within a week to 10 days after the hearing in Atlanta.
