Members and patrons of the Community Concert Association of Union City/Obion County will have the opportunity to attend the second of three of their reciprocal concerts through the Dyersburg Community Concert Association Sat-urday.
John Davidson, star of Broadway, film and television, will present his up-close and personal performance at the Yates Audi-torium in Dyersburg at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
This year’s Dyersburg Community Concert Asso-ciation offerings also in-clude the Andy Stein Duo on March 26.
To be admitted to the Dyersburg shows, members and patrons of the Community Concert Asso-ciation of Union City/Obion County should bring a ticket from one of the local shows. A stub from a previously held show will work.
Davidson has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as America’s premier all-around entertainer. His career began on Broadway in hit productions of “The Fantasticks” and “Oklahoma.” This early success spawned a record deal with Columbia, which in turn created successful feature runs at Caesar’s, MGM Grand and the Hilton in Las Vegas. His television successes include “That’s Incredible,” “$100,000 Pyramid” and “Tonight Show,” where he had 80 guest host appearances, and the revival of “Hollywood Squares.” His diverse film career includes Disney’s “The Happiest Millionaire” and “Edward Scissorhands.” Davidson has continued to be active on Broadway and appears across the country in regional theatre and as a solo performer.
There are two remaining shows to be held in Union City, including The Southern Fried Jazz Band on March 5 and Barbra and Frank, a tribute show to Streisand and Sinatra, on April 7. All local shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Union City Civic Auditorium.
Memberships are still available for $95 per family, $45 for a single adult, $40 for a single senior citizen and $25 for a single student.
