4-H Workshop | Obion County 4-H

4-H WORKSHOP — Each month the Obion County Public Library and the University of Tennessee Obion County 4-H program team up and provide craft workshops for children grades K-6. These workshops provide students with vital life skills such as independence, good self-esteem and the ability to think creatively. The January workshop celebrated the Chinese New Year. Youth created lanterns and non-edible fortune cookies containing quotes from books. Participants also had the opportunity to make and take home envelopes, to which they added their names, written in Chinese. 4-H volunteers assisting during the workshop included 4-H All Stars Tyler Bolton, Logan Stephens and Shelly Pate, as well as Senior High 4-Her Cassidy Robinson. The next workshop will be held on Wednesday and will celebrate winter. Pre-registration is required and anyone interested may do so by contacting children’s librarian Jenny Virgin at 885-7000. Participants included (front, from left) Lakin Derrick, Kiah Derrick, Tiana Derrick, Abigail Brewer, Ella Virgin, Kailey Long, (middle) Anthony Brewer, Dalton Morris, Kaigan Davis, Gracyn Callicott, Elex Carter, Landry Eason, (back) Bolton, Jacob Virgin, Miss Robinson, Madelyn Hogan, Miss Pate and Stephens.
