Nancy Carolyn (Hardy) Underwood, 79, of Union City died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City Feb. 12, 2011.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Cecil Sewell officiating, assisted by John Paul Berry. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery near Fulton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Crabtree, Jason Crabtree, Guy Walker Gray, Jimmy Flood, Lucas Flood and Logan Flood.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City First Baptist Church.
She was born March 12, 1931, in Fulton, daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Mae (Reece) Hardy. She was married to Clarence Eugene Underwood, who survives. She had been employed at Dixie Gun Works in Union City until her retirement and had also previously been employed by South Central Bell.
She was a member of Union City First Baptist Church and the Radio Bible Class there and had also been the pianist for the class.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Flood of Union City; her son, Jamie Underwood of Birmingham; her sister, Marie Breeden of Fulton; her grandson, James Matthew Underwood of Birmingham; and two nieces and her nephew.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kelton Hardy.
