Clarence Bullock

Clarence Bullock, 95, of Gleason, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at the Weakley County Nursing Home, Dresden.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason with Bro. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Gleason. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 tonight.

Bullock was born Nov. 4, 1915 in Gleason, son of the late Walter and Susan Harris Bullock. He was the widower of Viola Sullivan Bullock, and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche Bullock of Gleason; and two granddaughters, Melanie Numair of Gleason and Stephanie Bates of Charleston, S.C.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Ann Bates.

Madison Grace Conley

Madison Grace Conley, 1 month old, of Dyer, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Gibson County General Hospital.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leitherland Funeral Home Chapel in Rutherford with Bro. Corey Meggs officiating. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery in Mason Hall.

Miss Conley was born Dec. 16, 2010, daughter of Dustin and Jessica Long Conley of Dyer.

Survivors also include her grandparents, Kathy Clarke of Bradford and Charlie Conley of Centerville; and her great-grandparents, Lurliene Long of Kenton, Robert and Margaret Martin of Milan.

She was also preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Harry Long.


Kenneth Donald McCracken

Kenneth Donald “Don” McCracken Ed.D,, 80, of Martin, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at Oakview Rehab & Nursing Center, Calvert City, Ky.

Memorial services and celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Martin with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday.

McCracken was born Feb. 18, 1930, son of the late Joseph Andrew and Nellie Peele McCracken. He was the widower of Jan Houghton McCracken. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kans. and the University of Arkansas. He was a retired professor in the School of Education at the University of Tennessee at Martin, a member of Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee, Kans. and attended the First United Methodist Church, Martin.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. Schuyler J. “Sky” McCracken of Paducah, Ky. and Dr. Vance J. McCracken of Edwardsville, Ill.; one brother, Edward McCracken of Haittville, Kans.; one sister, Dee Burnam, Ft. Scott, Kans.; and four grandchildren, Sarah McCracken, Connor McCracken, Liam McCracken and Rowan McCracken.
