Mrs. Bob Peeler welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. The collect was recited and the minutes were read by secretary, Mrs. Joe Exum. Mrs. G.T. Hall reported for the nominating committee giving the slate of officers for the upcoming 2011-2012 club year. They are president- Mrs. Tom Gallien, vice-president- Mrs. Lee Pritchett, secretary -Mrs. Mike Hinds, and treasurer- Mrs. John Wall.
At the conclusion of the business meeting, Mrs. Sanford Truitt introduced Mrs. Mike Hinds as speaker for the afternoon program. Mrs. Hinds shared the story of The Moonflower Vine, a novel by Jetta Carleton published in 1962. The well-written book opened the door to a family which included a mother, father, and four daughters. The daughters came home every summer to enjoy the “happenings” of living in their small hometown. The club members present enjoyed their time together and shared memories and traditions within their own families.
Members in attendance not already mentioned were Mrs. Tom Farmer, Mrs. Morris Liming, Mrs. James Pritchett, Mrs. James Shore, and Mrs. Fred Vowell.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 2, 2011.
