Completed arrangements are being announced for Mayfield “Boy” Wright Jr., 69, of Union City, who died Feb. 5, 2011, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Union City, with Stan Kenton officiating and burial following in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Lee Todd, Perry Douglas, Jamie Jones, Donnie Taylor, Kevin Jones, Johnny Lee Jones, Deon Jones, Kelly Scales and Kevin Horton.
Rawls Funeral Home in Union City is in charge or arrangements.
He was born March 26, 1941, in Obion County, son of the late Annie May (Mayberry) and Mayfield “Buck” Wright Sr. He had retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and had also been employed at the 700 Service Station or Hornsby’s Garage. He was a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and attended McDowell AME Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Carline Wright of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Darshetah Jones of Union City; six stepdaughters and his son-in-law, Tina and Rodney Davis of Martin, Cassandra Newberry of Humboldt and Gwen Polk, Danita Polk, Mary Polk and Sonja Amos, all of Union City; three stepsons, Daniel Coleman, Kenny Coleman and Rodrick Polk, all of Union City; his sister, Annie Branch of Union City; and 22 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Wright and Louise Wright; and his brother, James A. Wright.
