Completed arrangements are being announced for Charlie Clinton Gray, 91, of Union City, who died Feb. 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Virgil Hale and Jeff Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Don Gray, Joe Johnson, Raiford Tarver, Mike Wilson, Guy Walker Gray and Kenneth Kemp. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Garrett, Wesley Jackson, James Matheny, Bill Hepler, Lonnie Grady, Mark McCullough, Jeff Jackson, Leon Barber and Bubba Smith.
The family requests that memorials be made to Bishop Street Church of Christ or Berea Church of Christ.
He was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Obion County, son of the late Jesse Lee and Mary Dobson (Miller) Gray. He married the former Ruth Eileen Snyder Feb. 19, 1944. She survives. He was a farmer and a retired employee of the former Brown Shoe Co. in Union City, where he worked for 30 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European theatre. He was a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ, where he had been a deacon and became an elder.
Survivors also include his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Ann and James Snyder of Kingston, Okla.; his son and daughter-in-law, Randall Charles and Sandra Gray of Charlottesville, Va.; and four grandchildren, Erica Collins of Ardmore, Okla., Lee Ann Stillwell of Antlers, Okla., Clint Snyder of Yukon, Okla., and Kasey Miller of Springfield, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Annie Florence Gray, Nell Gray, Ruth Childress, Ann Jackson and Laverne Gray; and two brothers, John Gray and Huland “Pete” Gray.
