SFMS girls get closer | | Posted: Monday, February 7, 2011 3:11 pm
| The South Fulton Middle School girls’ team is three rungs away from the top of the ladder. The Devilettes bested Three Oaks 40-33 on Saturday to win in their opening round game in the TMSAA Small School West Sectional. Sierra Coley had 13 points and seven rebounds for South Fulton (19-2), while Sydney Easterwood totaled eight markers and five boards. Maddie Kate Coffey also brought down six caroms for the victors. The Devilettes were originally slated to play Cypress tonight at 6 p.m., but that game has been postponed due to this morning’s snowfall, according to SF athletic director Keith Fraizer. In other news from the West Sectional, the Union City boys are slated to play Lanier on in the quarterfinals. Additionally, the South Fulton High School basketball twinbill against Gleason has been postponed due to the winter weather that rolled in this morning. Tentaviely, Frazier said that doubleheader would be made up on Thursday, provided the Bulldog teams are able to play their scheduled District 13A contests Tuesday. If Gleason is unable to play it will be canceled. | | | |
