Virginia Kesler Posted: Friday, February 4, 2011 11:41 am The Messenger, February 4, 2011 Virginia J. Kesler, 74, died Feb. 2, 2011, at her home in Oxford, Miss. She was a former resident of Obion County and was the sister of Don Jordan of Troy. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with the Rev. Jim Peterman officiating. Burial will follow there in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was set for today from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Abbeville United Methodist Church, 25 Business Hwy. 7, Abbeville, MS 38601. Born in Obion County, Mrs. Kesler was a member of Abbeville United Methodist Church, Oxford Homemakers Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 3978 and RSVP. She enjoyed reading and traveling and was a volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. She was a retired administrative assistant in the Registrar Office at the University of Mississippi. Survivors also include her husband, Stanley E. Kesler; five daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Randy Irby of Oxford, Deborah and Freddie Hargrove of West Point, Miss., Rebecca and Tommy Allen of Bellevue, Neb., Julie and John Pepper of Brandon, Miss., and Gloria and Jimmy Cissom of Walnut, Miss.; her son, Keith Robertson of Biloxi, Miss.; two sisters, Rachel J. Savage of Carthage, Texas, and Lynnie J. Turner of Columbus, Ga.; another brother, William Jordan of Boston; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
